Happy Spring & Sunday Greetings! Hope everyone is enjoying the spring temps! I made a quick trip up to Virginia to help my dad prep for mom's discharge this week from the rehab center. He has elected to bring her home for a trial period with a full team of home health care. I am cautiously optimistic! Steve's mom is having a heart cath procedure this week to hopefully stabilize her issues. Of course this is all happening during a very busy week for me at Hough, so please send our family extra prayers and positive vibes!
We are a month away from showtime! Please keep spreading the word & be sure to get your own tickets for family before they disappear: North Mecklenburg Community Chorus: Of Thee We Sing | Cain Center for the Arts
Sectionals and Maddie's Baby Shower
Tomorrow/Monday 3/23 will be a rehearsal at HUMC led by Hugh & Sherry along with sectionals since I will be in final dress rehearsal for NEWSIES at Hough. Plan to work on some things related to syncopation and counting, and also more specific voice part things. At 7:45 we will roll into party mode as we celebrate Maddie's baby shower!

Solo Auditions
On Monday 3/30 please note rehearsal will start at 6:15. At some point during that rehearsal I will listen to some different combinations of folks who have expressed interest in solo parts and the trio. If you would like to be considered please understand that for performances, these special parts will need to be sung from memory and on a microphone. Opportunities include:
Soprano, Alto, and Tenor or high baritone for the opening trio in "Will the Circle Be Unbroken"
Any voicing for "Take Me Out to the Ballgame"
Mezzo soprano/Alto or tenor for beginning of "O America"
Tenor or high baritone for beginning of "Always"
Rehearsal Tracks
If you haven't noticed by now, the rehearsal tracks are loaded for "Lift Every Voice and Sing"--stay tuned for updates on cuts. Also, please be on the lookout for remaining tracks, and also, our finalized show order coming your way this week!
I'll miss y'all tomorrow night--have a productive rehearsal and fun celebration! I'll see y'all on the 30th!
